PHIL OCHS AT COLUMBIA!!!                                                                                                              Ochs visited campus in March to rally support for SDS. Check out songs from last months’s concert!! His rendition of The Flower Lady moved us all.

I Ain’t Marchin’ Anymore: “It’s always the old the lead us to the war / It’s always the young to fall / Now look at all we’ve won with the saber and gun / Tell me is it worth it all … When I saw the cities burning I knew that I was learning / That I ain’t marching anymore”

As SDS, we are fighting against an American military industrial complex that has turned the world and its values upside down. Have we completely lost our minds and humanity?? Ochs on Draft Dodger Rag: “In Vietnam, a 19-year-old Vietcong soldier screams that Americans should leave his country as he is shot by a government firing squad. His American counterpart meanwhile is staying up nights thinking up ways to deceptively destroy his health, mind, or virility to escape two years in a relatively comfortable army. Free enterprise strikes again.” As the song’s soldier tells his sergeant, he will be the first to enlist in “a war without blood or gore.” This is our vision.

EDUCATE, OPEN YOUR EYES, BUY THE RECORD –                   EVERY SONG PACKS A PUNCH!!!
